2. CAT BA ISLAND

The best time visit the Cat Ba Island is October and November. The weather is best during this time of the year. Temperatures drop from December onwards thus having a chilly weather. March and April are wet, and June, July and August are really hot with a high percentage of humidity.

3. MY KHE BEACH ( DA NANG)

My khe Beach is one of the best beaches in Da Nang, and even once listed in Forbes Magazine as one of the ‘World’s Most Luxurious Beaches’. Just less than 1o minutes away by car from the city centre, My Khe Beach is often packed with tourists during weekends and public holidays.

What to do during the day

There are many places to rent surfboards at My Khe Beach, and it is likely your hotel or hostel has them available. For a seasoned surfer, My Khe waves might not be challenging enough. But for your kids, or beginners, the beach also offer some surf classes along the beach. Private lessons are two hours and typically cost around 1,040,000 VND (45 USD)/ person and 1,850,000 VND (80 USD)/ two people. Even you can find  surf lessons, kayaking, snorkelling tours, and even team building activities on land.

Parasailing and jet skiing are also available at My Khe Beach. Parasailing for one person costs 500,000 VND (22 USD) and a 20 minute jetski session costs 1,840,000 VND (80 USD).

   

Besides beach activities such as sun bathing, surfing, My Khe Beach is perfectly located at the heart of World Heritage sites – the ancient port of Hoi An, the mysterious Phing Nga Caves, the home place of the Champa population and the revered imperial city of Hue. 4. AN BANG BEACH (HOI AN)

An Bang Beach was first listed in Top 100 Best Beaches in the World of CNN in 2016. Although there are not large hotels, small villas are suitable for small families. It’s best time for your family to heal by plenty of activities.

What to do with kids 

First of all, it’s the fact that Hoi An is not the best place for surfing. But lower waves are great for learning, especially for kids. Put parasailing, jet skiing aside, An Bang beach is truly suitable for kids. 5. KY CO BEACH (QUY NHON)

Ly Son Island in Quang Ngai Province, is a lovely little island that is a well-kept secret amongst locals, very few foreigners know about it. The wild and unspoiled beauty of Ly Son Island is further complimented by a slow and peaceful pace of life. 

Visiting Quy Nhon, you can shorten your travel time by plane from Hanoi, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh to Quy Nhon. Or if you travel by train, Vietnam Railways offers daily trains to Binh Dinh province, and you can get to Dieu Tri station and take a taxi to Quy Nhon.

6. MUI NE (PHAN THIET)

About 200 km north of Ho Chi Minh City are Mui Ne and Phan Thiet. It takes about 3 hours from Ho Chi  Minh city.

Taking a walk on those enormous White Sand Dunes in Mui Ne surely is the most exciting thing to do during your time in Vietnam, besides diving into the cool and clean sea water in the beaches. The sand dunes have become the main attraction and are one of a kind wonder you can rarely see around the world. The sand dunes cover an area of 7 ha, in region of two different provinces Binh Thuan and Ninh Thuan. Only in Mui Ne can people see the biggest and the most beautiful sand dunes. It is located at about 20 kilometers away to the northeast of Phan Thiet City. Most people don’t know, that the sand dunes include a variety of colors from white, red, yellow or even pink. Mui Ne is the best place to go to if you are into playing with sand. There is literally sand everywhere, from beaches, sandy springs to the sand dunes.

Note: All year round. Best time to visit is either early in the morning or late afternoon as the sand can get very hot during the day. Take lots of water.

Red Canyon

This is a path worth walking! You can take your time and once in a while sit down on a restaurant which you can find here and there. We visited the place twice, once with a larger group and once just the two of us. Of course there where a lot of other tourists, but you where also able to take pictures of an empty path

 

 

Cu Lao Cau

Cu Lao Cau Island or “Hon Ran” (Snake Islet) as people commonly call it for its literal meaning as a full-of-snake island, forming like a huge battleship anchoring alongside the coast with its prow heading to the South. Pilgrims who come near to Cu Lao Cau Island will immediately be impressed by its charmingly peaceful appearance.

 

What to do with kids

Swim, play and relax at the public beach in Mui Ne. Beachside services are available including cabanas, umbrellas, lounge chairs, food and drink. The water is clean and the waves are just exciting enough to make it fun for adults and kids. 

Red Sand Dunes are a top attraction in Mui Ne. You can rent ‘boards’ to slide down the dunes. 

 

Best time to visit

The months between August and April would be the best time to visit Mui Ne. If you want to go there for surfing, the days between August and November are perfect for this sport since Mui Ne tends to have big waves at that time. If you want to enjoy the most beautiful beach, you should visit Mui Ne from December to April. In these months, the beach of Mui Ne is just amazing with yellow sand, blue water and clear sky. Tourists will have a great time lying on the beach under the palm trees; that will be a memorable experience.

7. CON DAO ISLAND

To get there, the first option and the most comfortable one is to fly there form Tan Son Nhat (Ho Chi Minh) Airport. It takes only about 45 minutes.

Nhat Beach 

This unassuming beach is off of the main road, Ben Dam . It’s the perfect spot to see the stunning sunset from the warm and clear waters. Unfortunately, there isn’t anything interesting to see in the water. Many minivans stop by here in the late afternoon for the sunset view.

 

 

Dam Trau Beach 

Located on the north side of the island near the airport is the Dam Trau Beach. If you want a good place to relax and see the propeller planes fly by, then this is the place to visit. It’s a neat experience to have them fly right overhead and so close to you.

 

 

An Hai Beach 

It’s an early wake-up call to see the orange and pink hues of the sunrise at 5am. Since you’re hanging out in the area, check out the fishermen’s daily catch of fresh seafood in the morning. The beach turns into a mini market with the sale of squid, fish, and rays

 

 

Con Dao Prison 

Con Dao prison is a place where your kids can study about the dire wars in Vietnam from the past.

 

Best time to visit

The best time to visit Con Dao Islands is during the dry season (November to February), but if you’re looking to see turtles nesting on Hon Bay Canh Island, visit between June and September. February till July is ideal for diving excursions as the waters around Con Dao have visibility averaging between 20 and 30 metres.
